Nice Icons, Bad Price [at Jun 27th, 2008; 7:59 AM]

Pandar
Power(2) 10 offensive icons makes this a mid-level battler weapon.

Price(1) At least 300k over Scuzzys Comb for some better icon types. Icon type inflation is unfortunate.

Strategy(2) Ring of the Lost totally whipes this weapon out and fires 9.5 icons right back at it. Though this does get through things like Faerie Tabard and Leaf Shield. However, a lot of people around this level do carry things like a Golden Compass which actually beats this by 2 icons, or a Patched Magic Hat, which will clear out some of the light. This stomps through Burrow, but gets knocked out by Sink.

Other(0) I'm actually halfway through Evil on NQ2, but I procrastinated and pretty much stopped trying to get this.

Defenses: Patched Magic Hat and Sophies Magic Hat bring this down a little, and Golden Compass actually beats this.

Upgrades: The mile-high priced Skarls Sword does the same icon types, except a lot more, with a lot of physical on top of it.
Downgrades: Cobrall in a Can is a direct downgrade from this, doing 3 light and 3 dark.

First off, if you're playing 1-player, go with Scuzzys Comb instead, since icons don't matter that much. As for 2-player battles, the popularity of Golden Compass makes this a poor choice for your main weapon. As a backup weapon it is excellent, as it gets 10 icons through Burrow and Faerie Tabard, which your other weapons, like Ylanas Blaster, might have trouble getting through by themselves. In short, this isn't the best choice for your main source of offense, but does have its uses.

Alternatives: For getting by Burrow, Staff of Righteous Fury is great too. Scuzzys Comb gets you 10 icons cheaper, and physical isn't necessarily a worse icon than dark.

Upgrades: Ylanas Blaster costs quite a bit more, but gives you 12.6 icons. For a lot more neopoints, Sword of Skardsen gives you 15 dark icons to hit through Burrow with.

Downgrades: Cobrall in a Can is the most similar weapon to this, but I prefer picking either Scroll of Moon Light for light or Scroll of the Dark Star for dark.

Counters: Golden Compass beats this, and is a good weapon regardless.

This is one of the most affordable weapon for mid-range battlers... Very easy to find and has good amount of damage.. Just make sure you stay away from sink...

Alternatives: Scuzzys Comb also deals 10 icons

Upgrades: Ylanas Blaster deals 12.6 icon damage and very affordable.

Ramtors Spellbook is quite a common weapon amongst the intermediate battlers. With it's low price and 10 constant icons, it sure is a great option.

Power (8/10) - True, it's not flashy, but it deals some good damage, and that's what necessary for battlers who decide to ditch their loyal Scarab Ring and start out the long path to become a Battledome master. Constant and difficult to block 10 iconer.

Price (8/10) - Hmm, the price tag on this sure is appealing, and maybe that's why it's one of the most popular weapons around today. 500k sure is a bargain, although Scuzzys Comb is cheaper due to the rarity of Dark icons related to Physical ones.

Tactical (8/10) - Heh, I could call this weapon universal, since it performs well in 1p and 2p.

In 2p, however, you will see some Dark icon blockage out there (most likely due to the popularity of Dark blockers, like Ring of the Lost), although light is not that easily defended, so you'll get some damage through.

Overall (8/10) - Yep, with 8 all across the board, you should have seen this coming. It's a solid weapon, capable of satisfying you for quite some time until you reach a more advanced level. A definite investment for intermediate users.

Recommended!

Alternatives/Upgrades: You could go with the common Golden Compass for less an icon, or go for its best partner, the Scuzzys Comb.

Regarding upgrades, a Sword of Skarden would be the ultimate upgrade for Dark lovers.

Blockers: As said before, the RoTL puts in a good defense against this weapon. The Ghostkershield will pratically nullify this, as will the Sink faerie ability.
