When you click first in a 2-player match, the icons dealt by this weapon are unblockable. When you click second in a 2-player match or are playing 1-player, damage done is based on your opponent's strength boost instead of your own.
The first option, dealing unblockable icons, seems appealing, but 6 icons really isn't that much. If you're fighting a very defensive-minded opponent, it could come in handy; just beware the chance that he might switch to his own offensive weapons that deal much more than 6 icons.
The second option is what makes Prickly Potions so popular. Many 1-player opponents have very weak weapons, so using a Prickly Potion can help you win by dealing more damage even as your opponent gets stronger and stronger strength boosts. If they have strong weapons, you can still try to pull off a win by using this with Burrow, Sink, Thick Smoke Bomb, Downsize!, and whatnot. As for 2-player, your opponent should have more than 6-iconers, so I can't quite see the usefulness there.
All things considered, I only see these being useful against 1-player opponents with high strength boosts, or when your strength boost is just far too low and needs drastic help, such as if you lab ray without other forms of training. But for those purposes, these potions are excellent.
Alternatives: Bracelet of Kings also deals the same type of icons. It's more expensive, but has other functions.
Upgrades: Glowing Cauldron deals 10 of this type of icon, but costs much more. Probably worth it though.

One of the special weapons around.
This is a great especially for lab rats and those with low boosts because it uses the strength of the enemy against them (especially in 1p). For 2p battle, you must click second in order to use the enemy's boost against them. Clicking first however, will make the icons unblockable.
Unfortunately, I think 6 icons wouldn't be much. you have to remember that most challengers with high stats will probably deal more than 6 icons against you. You do have an alternative like the Bracelet Of Kings which deals 6-10 icons or the Glowing Cauldron which deals 10 fire icons and is much more expensive.
