Quickfights Explained

What is a Quickfight?
This is Neopet's equivalent of a dating service only the other way around. You specify what you want in an opponent and a search happens to find you a perfect match, most of the time. Then you go right to battle, no looking at stats or neomailing a challenge. It is fast, efficient and risky.

How do I get an opponent for a Quickfight?
When you go to the page to join a Quickfight it asks you to type in your simple choices in an opponent. If you do not want to fight in a specific range then simply select your battle pet and the dome will match you up with the opponent looking for YOUR stats. This is extremely risky because you could be a level four pet and get paired up with a level sixty-two pet, I don't think you will have a chance.





What can I type in the fields?
What you need to do first is select the pet you want to battle with. Then below that, you are given the option to fight with a member of a guild, a lot of people get confused about this field so they just leave it blank. What you type in this field is the name of a guild whose members you wish to fight. So if you have a grudge against a rival guild just type the name of the guild and your opponents will be required to be a member of a guild of that name. If you do want to use this field then prepare for a long wait for an opponent. Of course if you don't want to wait just leave it blank, which I strongly recommend.

What about the other fields?
I was just getting to the other fields. Below the guild field there are eight other fields you can fill in. The level fields are the least important, unless you are trying to avoid someone. In all fields always start the "from" field with a one to show you are going from the weakest. The "to" field can vary, whether you are a risk taker or not. If you are not a risk taker then make the "to" fields match your pet's stats, that way you are paired up with a pet weaker or equal in stats to yours. If you are a risk taker then I think you know what to do.

Should I be trying to avoid someone?
No Quickfight match comes without risks, even if the pet you are fighting is weaker than yours. Many elite battledomers have very powerful weapons, but weak pets. They go on the Quickfights to take out unsuspecting newbies. These elite battledomers are called "n00b bashers." They attempt to fight with weaker pets in hope of bettering their weak pet's battledome record, and to make the newbies feel pathetic. If you do come across one you will know soon enough. After you are taken out by one there are ways of evasion, if their pet's level is two then simply change your level "from" field to three. But sometimes the n00b basher's level is equal to yours. If that is the case then just stop battling for about an hour; they might be gone then as "n00b bashers" don't hang around the dome long.

So I typed in what I wanted, what next?
Click "Let's go fight!" duh. After you click it, it will take you to the update page. It opens the update window. The Update window will keep checking for an opponent. When it finds one that matches your search, it will automatically take you to the 'Waiting for opponent' refresher. This will check to make sure your matched opponent is ready to fight, and then you can enter the Battledome!
