Battledome Sets
You may be wondering what a "set" is. A battledome set is a selection of up to eight items of equipment. You cannot equip more than 8 of these to a single pet at any given time. In addition to this, in the battledome, keep in mind you can only use 2 of these items per turn! You will cycle through your equipment depending on different strategies and situations, and the 8 different weapons you have lets you be flexible during a battle. A normal set is based around a combination of constants, dual-duties and shields with a healer. A freezer, bomb or stealer may also be found in a set. These sets below are not the only good ones out there, they vary a lot and some may be better than these. If you are new to the battledome, I highly suggest this arrangement: 2 constants, 2 dual duties, 2 shields, and 2 special. The only possible exception to this rule is with pets trained almost exclusively with the lab ray, for whom most shields and dual duties are ineffective. With these, a set with more constants and fewer shields/dual duties may be advisable. Let me explain what these mean.
Constants
Constants are offensive weapons in the battledome. They usually deal a decent amount of icons towards your opponent, and rarely defend some of their own. They are your big damage dealers. It is ideal to have two DIFFERENT constants. This is to add variety when trying to attack your opponent with elements they may have trouble defending against.
Dual Duties
Dual duties are weapons that are somewhat halfway between a constant, and a shield. They deal a good amount of icons to your opponent, but at the same time, they have the potential to defend icons from your opponent at the same time. These are ideal when you do not want to attack all out and play it safe, but still want to inflict a good amount of damage.
Shields
Shields are pretty straight forward. They are items that your pet uses to defend with. Shields block certain icons that your opponent throw at you, and if you play your cards right you can block a great amount of damage from your opponent. Two different kinds of shields are ideal to block a more variety of weapons.
Special
Special weapons are usually items that you can only use once every battle. These can be a 'bomb', a healer, a freezer, a stealer, a defender, a reflector or others. Bombs are once per battle weapons that usually deal a massive amount of damage to your opponent. Timing your bomb when your opponent is unlikely to defend against it can change the tide of a battle or end it instantly if played right. A healer is an item that replenishes lost hp and recover from the damage you may have taken during battle. A freezer is a weapon that freezes your opponent for the next round, allowing you do do whatever you want for that turn with no consequences. A stealer is a weapon that has the potential to take an item from your opponents set. This allows you to use that item for the remainder of the battle, but it is returned to your opponent at the end. Then there is what I call a defender, is a once per battle item that acts like the opposite of a bomb. These items usually block most, or all damage for that entire round. Lastly, there are reflectors. These items work like shields, but instead of blocking incoming damage, they actually take a portion of the attack thrown at you, and sends it back to your opponent inflicting damage.
Here are some pre-made sets that you are free to use as your base set. Feel free to make any changes you wish depending on your liking.
Prices in the process of being updated.
NOTICE: These prices are approximate and are in the market only! The Daily Neopets is not selling these items!

| Blocker | Alternatives | |
|---|---|---|
![]() Leaf Shield Cost: 53,000 NP ![]() ![]() Virtupets X-514 Super Shield Cost: 150,000 NP ![]() |
![]() Shiny Shoal Shell Shield Cost: 95,000 NP
|
![]() Flaming Bronze Helm Cost: 24,000 NP ![]() |
![]() Parasol of Unfortunate Demise Cost: 9,000 NP ![]() |
![]() Patched Magic Hat Cost: 94,000 NP ![]() |
|
![]() Parchment Cloak Cost: 11,000 NP |
![]() Studded Leather Cuirass Cost: 87,000 NP ![]() |
|
Notes: Leaf Shield is cheap yet powerful. This is as powerful as it could get at this level blocking a total of 13 icons (5 earth, 5 water, 3 physical). Virtupets X-514 Super Shield is the shield to use when you really don't know what your opponent is going to use. Its icons are diverse but shallow.
Flaming Bronze Helm is the cheapest near full physical blocker. The added 5 water defense is a bonus.
Parasol of Unfortunate Demise is very useful for labbed pets as it fully blocks light and blocks earth and water based on either your strength boost or your opponent's.
Parchment Cloak is best for pets over 150 INT because it blocks more icons.
| 2-P Defensive | 2-P Offensive | |
|---|---|---|
![]() Blue Draping Cloak Cost: 35,000 NP ![]() |
![]() Sroom Fruit Potion Cost: 21,000 NP ![]() |
![]() Flaming Blooble Potion Cost: 22,000 NP ![]() |
![]() Flask of Liquid Light Cost: 58,000 NP ![]() |
![]() Flask of Liquid Fire Cost: 45,000 NP ![]() |
|
Notes: These weapons are best if you are battling in 2-player mode. They are dependent on your opponent's stats, and thus are pretty much useless against 1-P opponents.
Blue Draping Cloak adds on extra defensive icons if your opponent's movement is greater than 20.
The four offensive weapons are intelligence potions. More info on intelligence weapons can be found here.
| Bomb | Alternatives | |
|---|---|---|
![]() Brain Muffin Cost: 1,000 NP ![]() |
![]() Jar of Meepit Eyes Cost: 1,000 NP ![]() |
![]() Water Muffin Cost: 900 NP ![]() |
![]() Darigan Muffin Cost: 950 NP ![]() |
![]() Icy Muffin Cost: 900 NP ![]() |
|
![]() Ultranova Cost: 5,000 NP ![]() |
![]() Dark Nova Cost: 900 NP ![]() |
|
Notes: At this level, all the worthwhile bombs are single use. Jar of Meepit Eyes is a very cheap 12.5 icon bomb.
If you want something stronger and have money to spend, the muffins are also a good option dealing 15 icons. You might want to remember though that they are only single use.
Ultranova is an amazing bomb for weaker pets as it has healing. Remember that it is fragile and rather expensive!
Dark Nova is a okay bomb/healer that will stay cheaper thanks to Apple Bobbing.
| One-Use Dual Duty | Alternatives | |
|---|---|---|
![]() Slippery Floor Potion Cost: 1,900 NP ![]() |
![]() Potion of Concealment Cost: 350 NP ![]() |
![]() Steam Jug Cost: 800 NP ![]() |
![]() Stream of Light Cost: 840 NP ![]() |
![]() Starlight Potion Cost: 350 NP ![]() |
|
Notes: There are very many good full-icon blockers for very cheap. Slippery Floor Potion is definitely the best as it blocks all water and fire with 6 icons attack.
The alternative blockers only block one full icon type but may be useful.
Earth: Potion of Concealment
Light: Steam Jug, Nanka Bottle
Dark: Starlight Potion, Steam Jug
Water: Slippery Floor Potion, Fire Jug
Fire: Slippery Floor Potion
| Freezer | Alternatives | |
|---|---|---|
![]() Snowglobe Staff Cost: 85,000 NP ![]() |
![]() Green Frost Cannon Cost: 500 NP |
|
Notes: Need a freezer for that first-round-freeze on those 1 player fights? Snowglobe Staff is a great option. It may not be 100% but it is very cheap and still has a good freezing percentage (around 20%).
Green Frost Cannon has a 10% freezing chance but is much cheaper.
| Healing | Alternatives | |
|---|---|---|
![]() Lesser Healing Scroll Cost: 5,000 NP ![]() |
![]() Bronze Scorchstone Cost: 16,600 NP ![]() |
![]() Magical Healing Potion Cost: 50 NP ![]() |
Notes: Healing is important. Choose a healer that is suitable for your pet.
| Others | Alternatives | |
|---|---|---|
![]() Downsize! Cost: 10,000 NP ![]() |
![]() Thick Smoke Bomb Cost: 10,500 NP ![]() |
|
Notes: Downsize! is a very useful weapon to have especially during those tight rounds when you feel that your opponent is going to do massive damage. It blocks 50% of all kind of icons.
Since the only upgrade for Downsize! is the expensive Thyoras Tear, Thick Smoke Bomb is the only alternative you could ever have. Remember to only use this during those important fights since it is only SINGLE USE and a bit expensive.
Intermediate Set
Costs roughly: 5,813,000 NP
| Constant | Alternatives | |
|---|---|---|
![]() Scroll of Knowledge Cost: 53,000 NP ![]() |
![]() Scroll of Ultranova Cost: 45,000 NP ![]() |
![]() Geraptiku Attack Leaf Cost: 350,000 NP
|
![]() Altadorian Halberd Cost: 92,000 NP ![]() |
![]() Scroll of the Scholar Cost: 5,000 NP ![]() |
|
![]() Scuzzys Comb Cost: 190,000 NP ![]() |
![]() Ramtors Spellbook Cost: 100,000 NP ![]() |
|
![]() Scroll of the Wise Cost: 18,000 NP ![]() |
![]() Scroll of the Fool Cost: 17,000 NP ![]() |
|
![]() Chakram of the Air Faerie Cost: 200,000 NP ![]() |
![]() Energy Blaster Cost: 150,000 NP ![]() |
|
![]() Barbat Throwing Star Cost: 260,000 NP ![]() |
![]() Bow of the Fire Faerie Cost: 500,000 NP ![]() |
|
![]() Ylanas Blaster Cost: 1,500,000 NP ![]() |
![]() Bow Of Destiny Cost: 1,700,000 NP ![]() |
|
![]() Wand Of Reality Cost: 1,800,000 NP ![]() |
![]() Brynns Legendary Sword of Wraith Smiting Cost: 1,500,000 NP ![]() |
|
![]() Altador Cup Throwing Star Cost: 1,600,000 NP ![]() |
![]() Dr. Sloths Personal Bath Buddy Cost: 1,750,000 NP ![]() |
|
Notes: Scroll of Knowledge has one of the best power-to-price ratios around. Geraptiku Attack Leaf is a nice constant purely for attack power. If you are willing to spend a hundred thousand Neopoints per constant, Scuzzys Comb, Ramtors Spellbook and Chakram of the Air Faerie are also great since they also deal 10 solid icons each with more stacked icons. Bow of the Fire Faerie does more.
The more expensive options like Ylanas Blaster, Altador Cup Throwing Star, Wand of Reality, and Wand of Destiny will give you even more icons. Dr. Sloths Personal Bath Buddy gives the most icons in this price range, doing a solid 14 icons, and it's fairly immune to inflation because it can be bought in the Hidden Tower.
| Dual-Duty | Alternatives | |
|---|---|---|
![]() Hanso Charisma Charm Cost: 700,000 NP ![]() |
![]() Altadorian Swordbreaker Cost: 260,000 NP ![]() |
![]() Jhudoras Cursed Sword Cost: 350,000 NP |
![]() Rusty Pitchfork Cost: 900,000 NP ![]() |
![]() Golden Compass Cost: 35,000 NP ![]() |
|
Notes: Golden Compass is also a good constant to have at this level. it does 9 offensive icons (3 fire, 3 light, 3 air) and 2.6 defensive icons (2.6 dark).
Hanso Charisma Charm is the cheapest full dark blocker dual-duty, as well as doing 10 offensive icons. Rusty Pitchfork is also a great dual-duty, defending physical icons alongside an 11-icon attack.
| Blocker | Alternatives | |
|---|---|---|
![]() Sophies Magic Hat Cost: 450,000 NP ![]() |
![]() Leaf Shield Cost: 53,000 NP ![]() |
![]() Patched Magic Hat Cost: 94,000 NP ![]() |
![]() Royal Blue Cape Cost: 580,000 NP ![]() |
![]() Devious Top Hat and Cane Cost: 300,000 NP ![]() |
|
![]() Blue Draping Cloak Cost: 35,000 NP ![]() |
![]() Parasol of Unfortunate Demise Cost: 9,000 NP ![]() |
|
Notes: Sophies Magic Hat is more expensive than Leaf Shield and only provides just 1 more defense icon. Your choice should be based on the kind of icons you think is more likely to be used by your opponent. Parasol of unfortunate demise is still the most viable option for labbed pets at this stage.
Shields should be dependent on what you encounter the most.
| 1-P Opponents | Alternatives | |
|---|---|---|
![]() Prickly Potion Cost: 150,000 NP ![]() |
![]() Voidberry Potion Cost: 70,000 NP |
![]() Glowing Cauldron Cost: 15,000,000 NP |
Notes: These two weapons are great for 1-P battling as they use your opponent's strength boost. For more in-depth details, see this article. These are also useful against 2-P opponents with a much higher relative strength boost.
| Bomb | Alternatives | |
|---|---|---|
![]() Rainbow Clockwork Grundo Cost: 3,200,000 NP ![]() |
![]() Shooting Star Muffin Cost: 10,000 NP ![]() |
![]() Swift Darkfire Negg Bomb Cost: 13,000 NP ![]() |
Notes: The first major bomb. It will provide the much needed boost to your set.
Otherwise, the 15-icon muffins will still do you good. Honey Potion used to be the bomb but the release of Ylanas Blaster and Brynns Legendary Sword of Wraith Smiting for only 200K more has shoved it aside.
Swift Darkfire Negg Bomb is a powerful addition to a set, doing a constant 15 icons.
| One-Use Dual Duty | Alternatives | |
|---|---|---|
![]() Slippery Floor Potion Cost: 1,900 NP ![]() |
![]() Potion of Concealment Cost: 350 NP ![]() |
![]() Steam Jug Cost: 800 NP ![]() |
![]() Stream of Light Cost: 840 NP ![]() |
![]() Starlight Potion Cost: 350 NP ![]() |
|
Notes: There are very many good full-icon blockers for very cheap. Slippery Floor Potion is definitely the best as it blocks all water and fire with 6 icons attack.
The alternative blockers only block one full icon type but may be useful.
Earth: Potion of Concealment
Light: Steam Jug, Nanka Bottle
Dark: Starlight Potion, Steam Jug
Water: Slippery Floor Potion, Fire Jug
Fire: Slippery Floor Potion
| Freezer | Alternatives | |
|---|---|---|
![]() Randomly Firing Freeze Ray Cost: 650,000 NP ![]() |
![]() Snowglobe Staff Cost: 85,000 NP ![]() |
![]() Scroll of Freezing Cost: 99,999 NP ![]() |
![]() Rainbow Frost Cannon Cost: 400,000 NP
|
![]() Black Frost Cannon Cost: 400,000 NP ![]() |
|
Notes: Snowglobe Staff still works, but is rather weak at this level. It may not be 100% but it is very cheap and still has a good freezing percentage (around 20%).
Scroll Of Freezing is a 100% freezer but is fragile and might break after a few uses (if it breaks, it's gone forever).
| Healer | Alternatives | |
|---|---|---|
![]() Greater Healing Scroll Cost: 600,000 NP ![]() |
![]() Helm of Recovery Cost: 500,000 NP ![]() |
![]() Short Sleeved Yellow Tunic Cost: 4,750,000 NP ![]() |
![]() Blue Scorchstone Cost: 400,000 NP |
![]() Lucky Robots Foot Cost: 45,000 NP ![]() |
|
Notes: Greater Healing Scroll is a good healer that gives 50-hp heal.
Helm of Recovery does the exact same thing as the Greater Healing Scroll so compare prices before buying!
If you want a greater heal, Short Sleeved Yellow Tunic is great since it not only heals 75 HP but also have some added defense (2 fire, 2 water, 2 dark). Your pet must have 500 intelligence to use this.
Blue Scorchstone may be better for pets with lower HP, as it has overheal.
Lucky Robots Foot is a one use full healer, so decide whether you want to spend the neopoints!.
| Others | Alternatives | |
|---|---|---|
![]() Downsize! Cost: 10,000 NP ![]() |
![]() Thick Smoke Bomb Cost: 10,500 NP ![]() |
|
Notes: Downsize! is a very useful weapon to have especially during those tight rounds when you feel that your opponent is going to do massive damage. It blocks 50% of all kind of icons.
Since the only multi-use upgrade for Downsize! is the expensive Thyoras Tear, Thick Smoke Bomb is the only alternative available to most battlers, but remember to use it only during those important fights since it is SINGLE USE and a bit expensive.
Advanced Set
Costs roughly: 48,450,000 NP
| Constant | Alternatives | |
|---|---|---|
![]() Kelpbeards Trident Cost: 8,890,000 NP ![]() ![]() Skarls Hasty Mace Cost: 6,900,000 NP ![]() |
![]() Sword of Thare Cost: 10,800,000 NP ![]() |
![]() Sword of Tawre Cost: 10,800,000 NP ![]() |
![]() Sword of Ari Cost: 10,880,000 NP ![]() |
![]() Sword of Reif Cost: 10,800,000 NP ![]() |
|
![]() Sword of Thigl Cost: 10,800,000 NP ![]() |
![]() Sword of Skardsen Cost: 10,740,000 NP ![]() |
|
![]() Pirate Captains Cutlass Cost: 12,500,000 NP ![]() |
![]() Sword of Lameness Cost: 16,250,000 NP ![]() |
|
![]() Werelupe Claw Necklace Cost: 6,800,000 NP |
![]() Glittery Faerie Dust Cost: 11,400,000 NP ![]() |
|
![]() Ultra Bubble Gun Cost: 6,000,000 NP |
![]() Twin Faerie Blades Cost: 9,500,000 NP |
|
Notes: Advanced sets depend entirely on your strategy and budget. There are a lot of other weapons that can be used at this level and choosing the right combination is crucial.
| Blocker | Alternatives | |
|---|---|---|
![]() Hubrid Nox Memorial Shield Cost: 8,100,000 NP ![]() |
![]() Ghostkershield Cost: 7,500,000 NP ![]() |
![]() Faerie Tabard Cost: 7,300,000 NP |
![]() Shield of Faerieland Cost: 11,800,000 NP ![]() |
![]() Dr. Sloths Personal Body Armour Cost: 5,800,000 NP ![]() |
|
![]() Pirate Captains Hat Cost: 4,300,000 NP |
![]() Frozen Cyodrake Shield Cost: 15,250,000 NP ![]() |
|
Notes: Here, the first five are the "big five" shields of the battledome. Each blocks all of one icon: Hubrid Nox Memorial Shield and Dr. Sloths Personal Body Armour (light), Ghostkershield (dark), Shield of Faerieland (air), and Faerie Tabard (water). The last two shields are unique in either the full icon the block or the amount.
| Bomb | Alternatives | |
|---|---|---|
![]() Ghostkerbomb Cost: 7,400,000 NP ![]() |
![]() Jhudoras Potion Cost: 9,000,000 NP |
|
Notes: Ghostkerbomb is the best bomb out there.
Jhudoras Potion is the only near effective alternative but also costs much more.
| Freezer | Alternatives | |
|---|---|---|
![]() H4000 Helmet Cost: 7,500,000 NP |
![]() Freezing Potion Cost: 7,500,000 NP |
![]() Magical Marbles of Mystery Cost: 7,500,000 NP |
Notes: This is the cheapest, non-species, 100% freeze. If you are not going to change your pet's species, species freezers are a lot cheaper.
| Reflector | Alternatives | |
|---|---|---|
![]() Triple Turbo Dryer Cost: 10,000,000 NP |
![]() Ultra Dual Shovel Cost: 9,000,000 NP |
![]() Craftsmans Lens Cost: 13,000,000 NP |
Notes: These reflectors have great situational use if you know your opponent has a mass mon-icon dealing weapon.
| Healer | Alternatives | |
|---|---|---|
![]() Bag of Healing Dust Cost: 10,000,000 NP |
![]() Leaded Elemental Vial Cost: 45,000,000 NP |
![]() Crisp Blue Tunic Cost: 8,000,000 NP |
Notes: This is the cheapest, non-species, 50% healer. If you are not going to change your pet's species, some species have a good healer and are a lot cheaper.
Crisp Blue Tunic drains 100 HP from your opponent and heals you, but has an intelligence requirement to use.
| Other | Alternatives | |
|---|---|---|
![]() Downsize! Cost: 10,000 NP ![]() |
![]() Thick Smoke Bomb Cost: 10,500 NP ![]() |
![]() Thyoras Tear Cost: 75,000,000 NP |
Notes: Downsize! is a very useful weapon to have especially during those tight rounds when you feel that your opponent is going to do massive damage. It blocks 50% of all kind of icons.
Since the only multi-use upgrade for Downsize! is the expensive Thyoras Tear, Thick Smoke Bomb is the only alternative available to most battlers, but remember to use it only during those important fights since it is SINGLE USE and a bit expensive.

![]() Attack Pea Cost: 400,000,000 NP |

![]() Sleep Ray Cost: 25,000,000 NP |
![]() Heavy Blue Tunic Cost: 8,200,000 NP |

![]() Jade Scorchstone Cost: 60,000,000 NP |
|
Notes: This is the cheapest, non-species, 50% healer. If you are not going to change your pet's species, some species have a good healer and are a lot cheaper.
| Other | Alternatives | |
|---|---|---|
![]() Thyoras Tear Cost: 75,000,000 NP |
![]() Thick Smoke Bomb Cost: 10,500 NP ![]() |
|
Notes: Thyoras Tear is the battledomer's best full damage blocker.
Conclusion
So, those are the four sets. If you didn't notice, the more advanced you get, the more expensive the weapons become. Good luck!
