Battledome Sets

A Battledome set is a selection of up to eight items of equipment. You cannot equip more than 8 weapons to a single pet at any given time. In the battledome, you can only use 2 items per turn, so you can cycle through your equipment depending on different strategies and situations. Having 8 different weapons lets you be flexible during a battle.

A set is usually based around a combination of constants, dual-duties, and shields with a healer. Some sets also have a freezer, bomb and/or stealer. For a basic set, we recommend you start with 2 constants, 2 dual duties, 2 shields, and 2 special. The only exception to this rule is pets trained almost exclusively with the lab ray, for whom most shields and dual duties are ineffective. With these, a set with more constants and fewer shields/dual duties may be advisable.

  • Constants are offensive weapons in the Battledome. They are your damage dealers. It is ideal to have two DIFFERENT constants, because it adds variety, increasing the chances your opponent cannot defend against the damage.
  • Dual duties are weapons that both attack and defend. They typically attack with fewer icons than a constant and defend with fewer icons than a shield. These are ideal when you want to play it safe, but still want to inflict a good amount of damage.
  • Shields are items that defend against damage. Shields block certain icons that your opponent throws at you. Two different kinds of shields are ideal to block a wider variety of icons.
  • Bombs are once-per-battle weapons that usually deal a massive amount of damage to your opponent.
  • A healer replenishes some amount of lost HP.
  • A freezer freezes your opponent for the next round, preventing them from using weapons for the next turn.
  • A stealer has the potential to take an item from your opponent's battle set. This allows you to use that item for the remainder of the battle, but it is returned to your opponent after the battle ends.
  • Reflectors work like shields, but instead of just blocking incoming damage, they also take a portion of the attack thrown at you and send it back to your opponent, inflicting damage.

Below are some suggestions for weapons to use as your base set. Feel free to swap out these weapons with others as you wish. It's your set, after all!

Notes: Downsize! is a very useful weapon to have especially during those tight rounds when you feel that your opponent is going to do massive damage. It blocks 50% of all kind of icons.

Since the only upgrade for Downsize! is the expensive Thyoras Tear, Thick Smoke Bomb is the only alternative you could ever have. Remember to only use this during those important fights since it is only SINGLE USE and a bit expensive.
